Among students and postdoctoral researchers, entomology is no longer a male-dominated field. But a steady increase in women's share of entomology degrees earned in the United States in the last 20 years has not translated to corresponding gender equity in in entomology jobs, as men exceed women in university and federal entomology jobs by a roughly 3-to-1 ratio, according to new research published in the Annals of the Entomological Society of America.
